Indoor Environmental Quality in Refurbishment

Indoor environmental quality is all too often neglected when refurbishing existing buildings to improve their energy efficiency. In this paper, Dr. Richard Hobday provides an overview of potential health issues related to building refurbishment and argues that good indoor air quality, appropriate forms of heating and ventilation, and sufficient day and sun light are all essential to provide a healthy and, therefore, sustainable environment to live and work in.
